ECG was established in 2016 as a joint subsidiary of the European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) and the Central European Gas Hub AG (CEGH) to provide gas exchange products and services for the Austrian and Czech gas markets and the entire CEE region. The range of products covers spot and derivatives contracts.
Central European Gas Hub AG (CEGH)
Central European Gas Hub is the operator of the Virtual Trading Point (VTP) in Austria, provides a gas nomination platform for international gas companies and constitutes one of Central Europe’s leading energy trading platforms. The gas exchange products for the Austrian and Czech markets are offered on the PEGAS platform in cooperation between EEX and CEGH. CEGH is a subsidiary of OMV Gas & Power (65%), Wiener Börse (20%) and Eustream (15%). In 2018, CEGH achieved a nominated volume of 659 TWh of natural gas at the CEGH VTP.
