CROPEX - Croatian Power Exchange

Croatian Power Exchange Ltd. was established in May 2014 and is equally owned by Croatian Energy Market Operator Ltd. and Croatian Transmission System Operator Plc.

CROPEX’ mission is to provide market participants with a secure, reliable and transparent solution for electricity trading. CROPEX operates the local Croatian day-ahead and intraday market and acts as a central counterparty for all day-ahead and intraday trades concluded on the trading platform.

June 2022

With the support of the Croatian NRA, CROPEX, together with the Croatian TSO, successfully coupled the Croatian day-ahead market with additional border into the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) electricity market, via the Croatian-Hungarian (HR-HU) border.

December 2019

The Croatian NRA re-designated CROPEX as the Croatian NEMO

November 2019

CROPEX, together with the Croatian TSO, successfully coupled the Croatian intraday market via its EU borders, Croatia-Hungary (HR-HU) and Croatia-Slovenia (HR-SI), into the Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC) single intraday market.

Launched Guarantees of Origins auctions as well as auctions for grid losses procurement and auctions for selling renewable electricity generated from incentivised RES power plants

June 2018

With the support of the Croatian NRA, CROPEX, together with the Croatian TSO, successfully coupled the Croatian day-ahead market into the Single Day-Ahead Coupling Multi-Regional Coupling (SDAC MRC) electricity market, via the Croatian-Slovenian (HR-SI) border.

CROPEX designated by HERA, the Croatian NRA, as the Croatian NEMO for a four year period
